The struggle to fix our schools

Equal Eduction is a civil society movement campaigning for quality and equality in South African eduction the analysis and activism.

The organisation has Zackie Achmat as chairperson. Board members include Mary Metcalfe, and Doron Isaacs is the co-ordinator. Visit their website here.

The organisation is engaged in a lawsuit against the South African minister of Education Angie Motshekga to ensure minimum standards in SA eduction. The case will be heard in the Bhisho High Court on November 20.

As part of the Fix Our Schools camp, Equal Education will be camping outside court in Bhisho from November 17-20 in peaceful protest. The camp will host debates, seminars, pickets and marches in support of EE's campaign to force the government to set minimum standards for our schools and then ensure these are met.
