That's right, the latest Hagen Engler book, Comrade Baby will be launched with a rare, rough and ready performance at Kitcheners in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. It's his sixth independent publication. This one comprises columns from Sunday Times, Weekend Post, Mahala and the illustrious hagenshouse.com, as well as lyrics and rhymes from poetry and musical performances around the place.
The evening will comprise spoken word, courtesy of Hagen's alter-ego Inspector Ras, anecdotes, singer-songwritery acoustic strummery and a collaboration with mysterious techno DJ from the bowels of the Berlin scene, A Bear Called Wellington.
The new book will be available for purchase for R120, but don't feel obliged. Bring yourself and have a look, a listen and a sneaky ale. It'll be fine. Here's a taste...
