This rehearsal is from Taylor Hackford's 1987 film Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll about two concerts held to celebrate rock 'n' roll founding father Chuck Berry's 60th birthday.
Here Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards – known in popular culture primarily as a wasted hedonist – is in full musician mode. He's jamming with his idol and clearly keen to make the show work.
Berry is an otherwise bastard, and very clear on who's the main man here. The genius comes out, but there's no rush.
Carol was one of the Stones' first singles, released 25 years before the vid was shot. So you can understand the significance for Keith.
